Mitra Ceremony

It is with great pleasure to announce that we are going to have a Mitra ceremony for Rosie and Tyne. 

'Mitra' translates to friend in Sanskrit and a Mitra ceremony is a celebration to formally welcome them as friends of the our Buddhist Community. This means that they have decided they are Buddhist, want to practice Buddhist ethics more fully and wants to do this in the context of Triratna at the Wellington Buddhist Centre. 

Join us in this simple ritual where Rosie and Tyne make a commitment formally in the company of his friends and Sangha. This is followed by tea and cake.
