Introduction to Meditation Course - July 2026

Meditation is great for physical and mental health, but it can be difficult to start a meditation practice without guidance, so attending a class is essential. This course is designed for complete beginners, and is also suitable for anyone who would like a refresher.

Over four Wednesday nights, at our Centre in Mount Cook, you will receive expert guidance and individual help from an experienced meditator who is an ordained member of the Triratna Buddhist Order. No commitment to Buddhism is required to join the course. Come along and see where meditation might lead you!

Do I need to be a Buddhist?

No, you do not need to be a Buddhist.

What is your cancellation policy?

It is WBC policy that we will not profit or make a loss from cancellations. If you no longer wish to attend the course your deposit will be refunded less transaction charges.

What should I wear?

Casual, comfortable clothing that you can sit in is fine.

Do I need to be able to sit on the floor?

No, we have chairs, cushions and stools. The key is to be comfortable.

Do I need to come to all four nights?

Ideally yes. If you can't make a night please let the course leader know.
