Meditation and Buddhism Course

When:  Saturdays, 16 March to 27 April,  10:30 am to 12:30 pm

Our six-week Saturday morning course provides instruction in Buddhist meditation including body awareness, mindfulness of the breath and cultivating kindness towards ourselves and others. Together these practices help develop relaxed awareness, clarity and compassion.

This course will introduce the essential principles of Buddhist meditation and provide you with the tools needed to work effectively within your meditation practice. We place importance on sitting comfortably and developing a sustainable meditation posture.

As well as teaching you to meditate, each week we will introduce you to some basic principles that will help you understand what Buddhism is about. There will be time to discuss your experience with others and to attend to any questions you might have along the way.

Everything is provided at the course to support your learning. All you need to do is come along in comfortable clothes. You’re welcome to arrive from 10:00 am.

Currently no class is planned for Easter Saturday April 20, with the final class being Saturday April 27.

Buddhism with Meditation Course

When:  Mondays, 18 March to 15 April,  7 pm to 9 pm

Why do so many people in the west find Buddhism an engaging and beneficial path? Why do Buddhists talk about suffering yet say it’s all about overcoming suffering?

Come along to this five-week course on Buddhism with Meditation and bring your curiosity and questions. Be prepared for a new way of looking at the world.

Each week we will look at a different aspect of Buddhism with an emphasis on how it applies to our lives in the 21st century. There will also be a period of meditation with some guided instruction, helping you develop and maintain a meditation practice.

Everything is provided at the course to support your learning. Just wear comfortable clothes.

Arrive from 6:45 pm for a 7 pm start.
