Yin Yoga is a distinctive style of yoga that aims, not to stretch muscles, but to reach deeper connective tissue and joints which is where stiffness occurs.
Join Satyadevi and Derek LeDayn for an immersive day retreat on breath-based meditation and Yin Yoga.
Satyadevi has taught Stress Management and Buddhist meditation at various centres in the UK and New Zealand and is an Alexander Technique teacher. Derek has studied various styles of movement and has trained in, and now teaches, Yin Yoga. Both are immersed in a breath based approach to these disciplines and will present an enjoyable day retreat suitable to any level of experience.
Yin Yoga comprises floor poses that are held longer than normal and are aimed mostly at the hips, thighs and lower backs. Because these poses take time there is the possibility of introducing breathing and meditation practices within the pose, which can then help prepare and deeply support sitting meditation sessions.
